Welcome to Sarmiento.Biz web portal
Let's grow and eat rice. Rice is the staple food of Asians. We eat rice two or three times a day. That is why Filipino farmers grow it. We also cultivate rice all year round. There is an irrigation system in Guiling, Rosales, Pangasinan that keeps our ricefields wet. In fact, one kilogram of rice consumes about 5,000 liters of water in order to live and bear grains.
Then comes the harvesting season. The palay (paddy) is then threshed and milled by the Delfin Rice Mill. Rice is then sold in the community. To complement the rice mill, LDS Palay Buying Station buys palay from the farmers and growers, then sells truckloads of palay to traders.
